An extraordinary season of cultural events celebrates AGBU/Chicago's 100th birthday!

 

Armenian General Benevolent Union/Chicago has planned an extraordinary calendar of cultural events to celebrate the chapter's centennial.  Established only five years after the founding of the worldwide organization in Egypt, AGBU/Chicago has been the driving local force in supporting humanitarian efforts, in producing some of Chicago's most memorable Armenian cultural events, and in publicizing exhibits, performances and lectures by Armenians at world-class venues such as the Art Institute of Chicago and Ravinia Festival.  The tradition proudly continues with the creation of the Chicago Armenian Humanities Festival, thanks to the generous support of the Kooyumjian Foundation. Our second season includes the following very special events:

Michael Fosberg's mother is Armenian.  In his award-winning one-man play, Michael tells the story of discovering he was not the person he thought he was.  A heartwarming tale of bi-racial identity.
